I was in my 30s when I first discovered this show, ostensibly created for children, but it is the most sweet and pure embodiment of what it was like to grow up as a Gen-X’er. Funny, super quirky and very smart, it featured guests like Michael Stipe, Kate Pierson and Patty Hearst. Soundtrack provided by the Magnetic Fields and various indie bands. Steve Buscemi and Iggy Pop had recurring roles as neighborhood Dads, and Toby Huss played … well, you just have to see it yourself believe it. Sadly, it’s hard to find these days, but worth a YouTube search or even an old-school DVD order.
